From first ladies to fashion royalty, we have seen a number of fashion icons emerge throughout history. However, there have been none quite as iconic as Jackie Kennedy, Grace Kelly and of course, Marilyn Monroe. We have put together some modern takes on some their most famous looks.

Fashion royalty: Grace Kelly

With Princess pretty and leading lady luxe, Grace Kelly cornered the market on flirty fifties fashion. Hailed throughout time for her signature girly glitz, Grace of Monaco’s is one that’s still heavily referenced today. With sleek silhouettes and voluminous skirts, adorned with pearls and lace, Grace is something that this sophisticated starlet could never fall from.

Recreate Grace Kelly’s iconic look in the Bold Dress for weddings, formals and your fanciest events. This feminine silhouette featuring a fitted bodice and sleek skirt complete with a sexy plunging sweetheart neckline will have you feeling just like Grace Kelly. Wear it with a single pearl drop necklace for a modern take on The Dutchess’ traditional look.

Glamour is a girl’s best friend: Marilyn Monroe

The icon of all icons, the Queen of all Queens, and the most glamorous on the scene, Marilyn Monroe, is a bona fide fashion icon. This blonde bombshell was certainly no “Candle in the Wind” practically reinventing sexy in the fifties. Dolled up in a figure-hugging dress donning diamonds or casual and care-free in a polka dot bikini, Marilyn Monroe’s unique style is a timeless classic.

Channel your inner Marilyn for, girls night! There is no better time to channel a modern Marilyn than for a fun and flirty night out with your gal pals. In true Marilyn Monroe style, accentuate your curves in the By Johnny Polka Bias Slip Dress. This flirty frock features a low round neckline with zigzag spaghetti straps and a fitted bodice for a little extra va va voom. The asymmetric hemline frill, is perfect for those candid shots during unexpected gusts of wind. Pair with your favourite red lippy and white strappy heels.

The first lady of fashion: Jackie Kennedy Onassis

Jackie Kennedy Onassis’ style was so sought after in the 1960’s it was as if the white house was fashion house itself. Known for her effortless and elegant style, Jackie-O revolutionised 1960’s fashion and basically invented ‘power dressing’ (nice try Melania). From pillbox hats to oversize sunglasses, and those tailored sets, the first lady’s classy, cool ensembles have echoed throughout time.

So ladies, let’s make a pact to bring back power dressing, ok? But, no, I’m not referring to the current ‘worst lady’, (again, take a seat, Melania). Breathe some Jackie O-hh la la, into your workwear. Channel Mrs Kennedy’s iconic set in the Jen Fitted Blazer and the Grace 7/8th Slim Pants by Forever New. The traditional blazer teamed with these #onpoint straight-leg high waist trousers will let everyone know that you mean business. Pair with some killer pumps and pillbox clutch, for nostalgia sakes.
