How do you go from Human Resources to Stylist to Fashion Designer?

Have you found yourself rummaging through your mum’s suitcase of old clothes searching for that perfect leather skirt she wore in the 80’s? Have you sifted through rows of jam-packed racks to find an op-shop bargain? Or spent hours scrolling through Etsy, Ebay and Depop to find a vintage one-of-a-kind?

When you think about working in fashion you might automatically envisage an Anne Hathaway, ‘Devil Wears Prada’- type situation. A highly competitive assistant role, where you are forced to work 15 hour days in a cut-throat environment, probably doesn’t seem too inviting.

Few influencers could claim the title of both role and Insta-model. Laura Henshaw, however, is an exception to the rule.

A few of our talented stylists were among the crowd of prominent Aussie and International designers, magazine editors, models and influencers. We chatted with them about their favourite fashion moments, the most empowering things they saw and their biggest trend predictions!
